Creating a Just Society
Sr. Isabel Kelly is the Congregation’s Justice and Peace in Creation Coordinator. In her role Sister works closely with area and Regional representatives who keep the sisters informed about many current issues. Counseling families and individuals, feeding the homeless, advocating for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, advocating for education for people with mental and physical disabilities and promoting letter writing campaigns about various social justice issues to the various governmental agencies in the countries in which we serve are some of the ways that we promote justice.
One organization that Sister works very closely with in the U.K. is PACE ( Parents Against the Exploitation of Children). Sister also works closely with Renate. This is a group of women religious from different Congregations who work to educate people about the problem of human trafficking, to promote the Gospel imperative to work for its elimination and to advocate for the rights of all human beings, particularly those who are trafficked or exploited.
